In My Defence It Was Very Cold...
Hundreds of volunteers have posed naked for a mass, public photo shoot to mark the 10th anniversary of the Lowry art gallery in Salford.
It forms part of a multi-site project by American Spencer Tunick, who is photographing similar-sized groups in eight different locations across Manchester and Salford. Tunick hopes to capture the movement of everyday people and reflect the work of artist LS Lowry and the finished piece will form part of an exhibition at The Lowry gallery.
The American has photographed thousands of nude volunteers across the world, most recently at the Sydney Opera House last month. Particpant Victoria Denning said it was a "great experience. It's wonderful how many different shapes and sizes of bodies there are."
Tunick is now looking for volunteers to take part in his next project at the Big Chill Festival in Herefordshire.
I always wonder if Spencer ever has film in his camera...

Getting naked in Salford isn't that unusual...
