No Doctor... When I Said Pea Down My Throat...
Ron Sveden, 75, of Brewster, said Cape Cod Hospital doctors used an X-ray to find a spot on his windpipe that they initially believed to be a cancerous tumour, the Boston Herald reported Thursday. "My blood pressure was very low. My oxygen count was very low. I was dehydrated, my left lung collapsed, and I had pneumonia," Sveden said.
"Prior to Memorial Day I was going downhill," Sveden said. "My appetite went away and I was coughing a lot. I just had this listless feeling where I just wanted to lie down. I had no ambition to do anything." However, Sveden said doctors performed tests and discovered the mass was not a tumour, but a pea sprouting inside him.
Sveden said his health improved once the plant was removed. "Thankfully it's all over," he said. "Now I'm just waiting for a call from the Jolly Green Giant," Sveden joked.
I wonder if it counted towards his five a day?
