The Bank That Likes To Say No

A 65-year-old Ohio gas station clerk said an attempted robber turned and walked out of the store when she refused to hand over any money.

Police said the clerk, who asked to remain anonymous, was working at the Marathon Quick Mart in Vermilion at about 5:45 p.m. Saturday when a man, described as white and about 6 feet tall, came inside and waited for all other customers to leave, The Morning Journal reported Monday.

Officers said the man then approached the clerk and told her he had a gun. The man demanded money and said he would shoot the clerk if she did not comply, police said.  However, the clerk said the robber turned and left when she refused his demands.

"I didn't even really think, apparently," the clerk said. "If I had, I wouldn't have opened my big mouth. It just made me mad and I called his bluff and opened my big mouth and he took off. ... I didn't even get shaky, but afterward I did."

I wonder if they'll charge him £35 for a failed transaction?

He knew this was a non-starter when he walked in...
