An Additive That Can Cause Vomiting Or Diarrhoea Does Not Belong In A Snack Food - Michael Jacobson
A New York woman says a cab driver called the police because she would not pay $120 to clean up her 6-year-old's vomit.
Shamie Cuthbert, 29, said she was heading home Saturday with her son, Jacob, when the boy threw up in the back-seat of a taxi cab.
"I leaned over into the front of the cab and said, 'As soon as we get home, my husband will come down with cleaning products, and I will clean everything up.' I expected him to be polite about it. Instead, he went sort of crazy and screamed, 'This isn't right! You need to give me $120, or I can't use my cab! I am going to lose a lot of money today!'"
The driver, Nahidul Islam, 33, called 911 when he arrived at the woman's building and the mother used cleaning supplies on the mess while waiting for officers to arrive. Officers arrived and told Islam he could not demand $120 from Cuthbert. The woman paid him a $21 fare with a $4 tip. "At least six people stepped out of my cab because of that smell," Islam said. "I lost $200 that night."
Vomit would be a breath of fresh air in some of the cabs I've been in!
