The Stakes Are High... That's Why They're Giving Them Away

An unemployed California father of three said winning weekly steak dinners from the Sizzler restaurant chain for a year will be a big help to his family.

David Jimenez of Rancho Cucamonga, who was laid off from his job selling and installing automatic doors in 2009, said the $650 worth of Sizzler food -- amounting to about one steak a week for 52 weeks -- he won in the "Free Steak for a Year Sweep-steaks" could not have come at a better time. "Once a week you go out and eat with the family instead of eating at home, it helps out a lot," Jimenez said. "A good steak won't hurt nobody."

Jimenez, who has three elementary school-age children, said he is on the road to a new career after recently obtaining his real estate license.  "It's a new beginning for me," Jimenez said. "I'm on to bigger and better things. When you think positive, positive things will happen. At first, I was all negative. That's why nothing was happening for me."

Maybe he would have been better thinking positively about winning the lottery instead!

Then I thought of the bus fares and decided to have the whole lot in one go.
