What Do You Call An Elk In A Liquidiser?
A Canadian woman is asking the Newfoundland government to take action after she experienced three road collisions involving moose since May 2010.
Patricia Regular of Harbour Grace, who said she totalled two cars in the moose crashes, said the large animals are increasing in number and she wants officials to do more to keep them away from roads. Police figures for 2010 recorded 741 collisions involving moose and vehicles in Newfoundland, twice the number from about 10 years earlier.
A citizen's group called the Save Our People Action Committee said it wants officials to reduce the moose population in the province. "The numbers being doubled like we're seeing. Something has to be done, and we can't wait," committee representative Eugene Nippard said.
Was it three different moose or the same one three times?
