Talkback Thames is reportedly developing a new Saturday night gameshow for BBC One.

According to Broadcast, the show will be based around the concept of time, with Chris Evans a possible choice to present.

Called The Clock Is Ticking, the magazine says the show features contestants sitting in a room, unable to see the time, with them having to guess how much time is left when they re-emerge. They have the chance of winning a cash prize, and with the opportunity to play for a grand prize of £75,000.

The production company, which makes ITV1 show PokerFace, is believed to have showcased the idea to BBC commissioners last week.

So, chess too exciting? The raw adrenaline of stamp collecting too much? Cup of tea and a nice biscuit give you a buzz? This could be the show for you!

A group of people sit in a room for a bit, come out, and then, wait for it...have to guess how long they've been in there. That's entertainment!

Give us your thoughts, when you've calmed down of course.

Nobody told Nigel the series had been cancelled.

The other thing about Deal or No Deal is the way they go on about how they pick the numbers when it's just a matter of pure dumb luck.

And somebody got paid to come up with that idea. Mind you, who would have thought someone opening boxes to find out what prize they might have would ever be a success, but Deal or No Deal is conquering the world.
