The recent petition about road charging  which was on the No. 10 website got a lot of publicity recently when about a bazillion people signed it basically saying that they thought they were already paying enough for the privilege to run a car.

Never one to miss a lift off a passing band wagon I thought I'd pop along and have a look at what else we can be ignored about.  That was when I realised why nobody takes any notice of these petitions; the majority of them are barking mad!

Below are 10 petitions, one of which I've made up. Can you spot which one is the fake?

We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to…

1, become the first British Prime Minister in history to attempt to swim the Atlantic non-stop.

2, require all supermarkets to put doors on their fridges and freezers.

3, make statutary the teaching of astrology and other pseudo-science in Government-funded schools.

4, make eggs a compulsory component in our diets

5, provide free monkeys on the NHS

6, ban any further transmissions of "Quote Unquote" on BBC Radio 4

7, release a Christmas single

8, remove station ID logo's from all TV channels

9, to stop the harassment of 4x4 owners & drivers

10, recommend to the Queen to confer a knighthood on Brian May
