And she's in again!  Five days after being returned to jail from a 24-hour stint under house arrest, the blond, willowy hotel heiress was transferred late on Wednesday from a county jail's medical ward back to the detention centre where her incarceration began 12 days ago.

Normally we ignore this sort of thing (unless we can make a funny picture up) but US celebrity socialite Paris Hilton is in a medical unit at Los Angeles County Jail.

The 26-year-old is being assessed by doctors after a judge ordered she return to prison to finish her 45-day sentence for breaking parole. The hotel heiress was earlier allowed home to serve out her punishment under house arrest but a furious LA judge demanded she re-appear before the court before sending her back to jail.

Hilton, who was released on Thursday after spending just three days inside, was stunned by Supreme Court Judge Michael Sauer's decision and wailed "Mom, Mom, it's not right" as she was escorted away by sheriff's deputies.

Hilton's early release from her cell at Los Angeles County Jail's Lynwood lockup on Thursday morning for unspecified medical reasons infuriated Judge Sauer and sparked outrage in the US. Judge Sauer told the court on Friday: "I at no time condoned the actions of the sheriff and at no time told him I approved the actions. At no time did I approve the defendant being released from custody to her home on Kings Road."

It's hard to tell what the real motivation is behind all this.  I mean, this is the States and the judge might be up for re-election and have picked on the 'one rule for the rich' uproar.  Or, to give him some credit, the judge might just have been as outraged as everyone else.

However it is hard to stifle the 'Yes! Get back inside you spoilt brat' reaction that all moderate, right thinking people feel.

Isn't time to deprive this woman of the oxygen of publicity? Or just ordinary oxygen. Either work for me...
