A US police forensics expert has been sacked for using lab facilities to DNA test her husband's underpants.
Ann Chamberlain, 33, of Okemos, was fired by the Michigan State Police forensics laboratory in Lansing, reports the Detroit News.During her divorce hearing, she admitted testing her husband Charles Gordon's underwear because she suspected he was cheating on her.
Under questioning by an attorney, Ms Chamberlain was asked what she discovered from the DNA tests. "Another female. It wasn't me," she responded. Mr Gordon had denied cheating.Chamberlain had been suspended with pay from the forensic science laboratory pending an investigation.
Michigan State Police spokeswoman Shanon Akans confirmed she had now been sacked but declined to answer further questions about the case, citing personnel issues.Mr Gordon, a former player in the Canadian Football League, and Ms Chamberlain divorced in July. They have one child.
