What A Rip Off! £2.50 And All I Got Was A Used Nappy
We at cleverthingies.com are proud to launch a campaign against a relatively common object that is is proving to be a danger to our societies most vulnerable members.
The other day a friend mentioned a news item that was broadcast on TV in Canada about a child who had managed to crawl inside one those 'use the crane to grab a toy' machines. Obviously, if the trap door is big enough for a moderately sized toy to come out then it is big enough for a small child to get in!
At first I thought this would be an amusing story for this humble site and decided to trawl t'interweb to try and find the original report to shamelessly cut and paste and generally breach copyright as I usually do on a daily basis. However that is when the full horror of the situation came to light!
Google the words 'child stuck toy machine' and you will get 130,000 hits! I kid you not! These machines are dangerous and must be removed immediately! For example...
Timothy Novotny, 7, Sheboygen, Wisconsin
Joshua Walk, 3, Abilene, Texas
James Manges, 3, Elkhart, Indiana
Angelia Romero, 2, Middletown, New York
These are just a few of the heart rending stories of children, frustrated by the fact that claw is not designed to close properly, taking things into their own sticky hands. We should take to the streets and demand that these deathtraps are removed from our arcades, motorway services, and shopping centres.
Alternatively we could just say "sod it... it's the Americans again"

It was some time before young Frank was noticed.

Suggested by Cathy Llewellyn... Thanks Cathy!
It could be the same as the cocktail umbrella/Jap's eye interface problem. Easy to get up but a bugger to get out... so I'm told...
