ls Former Smiths singer Morrissey could represent the UK at the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest, the BBC has confirmed.
The Mancunian musician first expressed an interest in taking part after Daz Sampson's song, Teenage Life, came fifth from last in the 2006 contest.
"I was horrified but not surprised to see the UK fail," he said. "Why didn't they ask me?"
The BBC says it is in talks with the singer to write and possibly perform a track for this year's contest in May.
So the moping Manc who recently came second in a competition to find Britain's greatest living cultural icon is to try and turn around our woeful performances of the last couple of years.
How will Sir Terry cope?
Will Morrisey remain true to his own style or try and write a hoppy, boppy, europoppy type song?
Or will he try and merge the two styles?
'Making Your Mind Up(Whether To Pull The Plug On The Life Support)'?
'Boom Bang A Bang (That's Put You In A Coma)'?
Can he win it or are the protest votes against our involvement in Iraq going to prove too much for him?
Win or lose how will it affect his reputation?
Has he already been indelibly stained by association with the world's cheesiest competition?

Eh up, chuckapet.
I think its the hoovers you need to worry about. Especially Henrys.......

No idea, but I was ready to be disgusted.

I've watched every episode of 'Shameless' and even work on the estate where it's filmed but I've never heard of anyone using Shake'n'Vac for the intended purpose let alone anything else. What did you think they do with it?

Oh, I had some image of mancunian abuse in my head. I think that says more about me than Morrisey.

I just thought Morrisey doing his version of the Shake'n'Vac advert would be a good way of getting in the mood for the Eurovision Song Contest.

I know an explanation of that comment is going to make me retch, Rob, but go on...

Still, it's nice to see yet another supposedly cool celebrity of yesterday willing to prostitute themselves for another fifteen minutes.
He'll be doing adverts for Macdonalds next.
