M'Embrasser Vite, Me Serrer Lentement.
Tourism chiefs have posted a 90-second film featuring a pretty French girl in a chic Parisian-style art deco cafe in Blackpool. The mini-drama, entitled J'aime La Tour, shows the French girl's fear of leaving Blackpool - the town she has fallen in love with.
Set in a cafe in Stanley Park, the film uses stylish flashbacks of the girl enjoying the resort's attractions with her Lancastrian boyfriend before she orders a hot pot in French. Helen France, executive director of tourism and regeneration at Blackpool Council, said: "Blackpool has a very positive message to tell. And with this year being billed as the British holiday comeback we've made sure that Blackpool has a huge amount to offer. Social networking sites like YouTube will help ensure that we get the message out to young people and new audiences planning a day out or weekend break this summer season."
Peter Mearns, executive director of marketing and communications at the NorthWest Regional Development Agency, said Blackpool was reinventing itself as a 21st century resort. "The new Blackpool has plenty to shout about. This quirky short film will encourage people to think again about the resort and discover a new side to Blackpool for themselves," he said.
