Single men and women taking part in the scheme at the Staffordshire theme park will be paired up as they queue for rides. Couples will experience their dates at speeds of up to 62mph on rollercoasters such as Rita - Queen of Speed and Spinball Whizzer.

With some rides lasting just 49 seconds, the park has hailed the scheme as the world's fastest date. Morwenna Angove, sales and marketing director at the park, said: "We pride ourselves on offering our visitors the ultimate day out or short break and have an amazing combination of adrenalin-inducing rides and attractions. We're confident that combining such thrilling experiences with the added exhilaration of meeting a potential new partner will ensure the most memorable date ever."

The scheme will be piloted throughout September.
