Glamour model Katie Price is going head to head with The Spice Girls to snag an award for the best celebrity mum of the year.

The mum-of-three has been shortlisted for the annual prize, despite her messy split with singer Peter Andre and their ensuing war of words.  A statement from the organisers reads, "Katie Price has been capturing headlines for all the wrong reasons over the last few months but she's doing something right as she is nominated again for this year's official Bounty Celebrity Mum of the Year."

Price will compete against pop stars Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell for the gong, as well as Kate Moss and Tory leader David Cameron's wife Samantha, who was devastated after tragically losing her son Ivan earlier this year. Suzanne Shaw, who scooped the title last year, has also been nominated, along with presenters Myleene Klass and Tess Daly, and singers Charlotte Church and Sophie Ellis Bextor.

The winner, picked by the public, will be awarded at a ceremony at Grosvenor House Hotel in London on 4 November. Price has three children - son Harvey with footballer Dwight Yorke, and Junior, four, and Princess Tiaami, two, with Andre.

Well now that the competioin from Jade Goody and Kerry Katona has been eliminated she should be laughing.
